Rynek Glowny
Large medieval market square. Today, meeting point and an arena for celebrations. Come here to watch the New Year's Eve fireworks. In summer, enjoy the outdoor cafés and gelaterias.

Tuchhallen

Since the early middle ages Krakow has been a turn over point and an urban crossing of merchants' routes. During the 16th centruy the wooden merchants' huts are pulled down to make way for an elegant market hall erected in Renaissance style.

 

Marienkirche

Planty
When the old city walll enclosing the town was pulleddown around 1800 a green belt took its place. Remnants of the wall are preserved on the north side of town.

Wawelschloß
For hundreds of years the Plish kings were crowned in this castle inortheast of town, on a hill above the river Weichsel. The cathedral of Krakow forms part of the building comples. From its spires the view is marvllous.
