To Krakow by car

Cars are not allowed throughout Krakow's old city center. There a many exception though, especially for hotel guests. Outside the city center cars can be parked in guarded parking lots and garages, for example at Pl. Sw. Ducha. Several gas stations are open day and night.

At the borders there are often long lines. You must be able to show your driver's licence, papers that give proof of the ownership of your card and the Green card or equivalent paper.

Bringing your car to Poland is said to increase the risk that you might loose it to some thief. Anyway, all western car renatl companies have their offices in Krakow, and renting a car at the Krakovian "PZ Mot" for instance costs about 40 Euro per day.
